Luxury Corporate Fitness Center at Salesforce Tower in Downtown Chicago

Located on one of the last remaining riverfront sites in Downtown Chicago, Salesforce Tower is a show stopping corporate office building with over 1.2 million sq ft. As one of the most advanced office buildings in Chicago, Salesforce Tower offers configurable conference centers, a tenant lounge, approx. 25,000 sq. ft. of commercial retail space, and of course a state-of-the-art fitness center.

At the start of this project, Hines and Gensler selected The Fitness Connection (TFC) as their trusted fitness amenity designer and equipment provider. The TFC team was eager to provide professional insight on equipment selection and user needs to plan an attractive, yet practical corporate fitness amenity, while making creative use of the available space.

Hines understood the the positive correlation between physical activity, overall wellbeing, and workplace success. The project aimed to offer more than just a room full of exercise equipment, but a space where tenants could have a club-quality workout and a wellness retreat.

The finished product is just that. It features panoramic views of the Chicago riverfront with a mix of cardio, functional training, strength training, a group training room, and a wellness/recovery space.

The Equipment Line-Up

Offering a premium amenity requires premium equipment.

Cardio at Salesforce Tower includes top-of-the-line treadmills, ellipticals, climb mills, rowers and bikes from Matrix Fitness, along with connected rowers from Hyrdow, a SkiErg and an Assault Fitness AirRunner.

The strength area is robust and offers a wide variety of Matrix Fitness free weights and cable resistance for a well balanced workout experience.

The centerpiece of the room is the Escape Fitness Octagon Functional Frame. This frame offers unlimited exercise possibilities with a variety of accessories and attachments such as the Crux Rope Pull, a squat rack, a dip station, TRX straps, medicine balls, and kettlebells. Given the growing enthusiasm for functional training, this is poised to remain a focal point for years to come.

And we can’t forget about the group fitness and recovery rooms. One room features a set of Matrix spin bikes along with another Escape Fitness Functional Frame for a variety of class options or individual uses. The other includes Escape yoga straps, blocks, and mats, along with recovery tools from Hyperice.

The extensive and diverse equipment offering at Salesforce Tower exceeds the needs of all members no matter what their exercise routine may look like.

Finishing Touches

With premium touches throughout, this facility is designed to offer a unique experience through and through.

Cardio consoles feature a 22'“ touch screen with a custom logo screen saver to create a cohesive branded look while the machines are not in use. The Wolf Point logo is also featured on the custom dumbbells, kettlebells, barbells, and plates to continue that branded, luxury experience.

The Final Product

Since the opening of the building, employees have been overjoyed every time they come in for a workout. They have expressed their excitement about the space and how grateful they are to have it as an amenity in their workplace. The “wow” factor has been rewarding and powerful for Salesforce Tower. They feel the facility has given employees a way to relax and a means for them to be their best.
